Why didn’t the packers get a 3rd round pick for losing TJ Lang this is BS a 4th 2-5th and a 6th
Who?
Tbh I would rather have 2 4ths a 5th and a 6th that gives a lot of draft capital to trade up or trade for proven vets who can play a role. The 2 4ths would carry decent value.
They got one 4th so..
They get an extra one according to this article.
A 3rd round pick for losing a guard? Haha ok
Detroit lost Rieff and Warford but didn’t get a pick at all. Not sure why you’re upset over getting 4 picks.
Because they signed other free agents and the Packers didn’t. That’s how the system works
Hey come on now, do you expect guys to READ the article before commenting??
looks like the Raiders got 4 as well and no mention of them.
Cowboys too
Now do the redskins not get a pick after losing both Baker, Jackson and garçon?
By signing players behind them.
Exactly. How do people not know how this system works by now?
“The compensatory pick system provides additional picks to teams who lose more/better qualifying free agents in the previous year than gained.”
Dude it’s seriously the SECOND LINE of the article. Quit being so goddamn lazy
Who did the Bengals and Broncos lose that warranted a 3rd? I get Cardinals (Campbell) and Texans (Bouye). Lang and Hyde both ended up being better players than anyone they lost from what I can remember. I know contract amount is a factor so maybe that was it?
bengals lost kevin zeitler
broncos lost russell okung and sylvester williams.
add Andrew Whitworth to Bengals answer as well
Nothing for the Bears after losing Alshon? Can’t remember if he was unrestricted or not.
This is gonna hurt, but it’s because you signed Glennon.
You don’t get picks for losing guys. You get comp picks for losing more FA’s than you sign. For christs sake, read the article
Right, but there’s a formula to determine the pick spot. If you lose 3 players and sign one it will negate one, but which one? If a team loses a perennial all-pro to a huge contract elsewhere but signs a long snapper, do they get nothing?
