With the conference championship games in the books, we now know the draft order for 30 of the first round’s 32 picks. Here’s the rundown:
1. Cleveland Browns (0-16)
2. New York Giants (3-13)

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-11)
8. Chicago Bears (5-11)
T-9. Oakland Raiders (6-10)
T-9. San Francisco 49ers (6-10) (Note: The Raiders and 49ers have identical records and the same strength of schedule. The tie will be broken by a coin flip with the winner getting pick No. 9 and the other club receiving the No. 10 pick.)
11. Miami Dolphins (6-10)
12. Cincinnati Bengals (7-9)
13. Washington Redskins (7-9)

32. (New England Patriots (13-3) or Philadelphia Eagles (13-3))
Call me crazy but Cleveland could actually turn it around quickly. With $100 mil to spend they could potentially get one of the top QBs in free agency plus a couple of quality starters maybe in the secondary or skill position on offense. They’ll have a good chance of getting Fitzpatrick or Barkley in the draft and whichever QB they like.
Obviously the Browns screw things up more often than not but there is a lot of potential there when it comes to assets. Plus they have a pretty solid core in the trenches barring injuries. Hopefully the front office doesn’t screw it up again.
They need a new head coach to right this ship, but the right head coach to do that won’t come Cleveland.
They need a new culture change. From top to bottom. They’ve been too bad, for too long, to just turn it around with two top draft picks and a butt-ton of cash. I’m not being snide. I mean they need a whole new mind set as an organization.
Yeah the draft worked out really well for them when they traded the rights to draft wentz to the eagles…
Yeah but there’s no guarantee that they would’ve been able to do anything with just Wentz alone.
Like i said, the Browns screw things up a lot but there’s more potential this year than ever to right the ship. You basically are just repeating my sentiment on them making poor decisions…
Hindsight is always 20/20 though. If Wentz went to Cleveland with no O-Line and absolutely no playmakers on offense he’d be a complete bust. The real argument you should’ve made is that the Browns have bombed on most of their actual first round picks over the last 8 years or so. But even then Dorsey wasn’t responsible for those drafts and his track history in KC is very very impressive. Time will tell in Cleveland.
All I said was the Browns are in a good position going forward. Seems like these responses are mostly your typical average fan who just wants to chime in on the same ‘Browns being awful’ rhetoric.
How may early 1st rounders have CLE have in the last 10 yrs? They should be shopping these magic beans for a proven QB to some sucker who actually thinks high draft picks are worth more than what’s right in front of their face.
Keeping the #1 pick last season instead of going all in on Garappolo was the most Browns thing EVER!!! If they have any shot at relevance that’s what they need to do.
If I’m Cleveland I take my QB of the future at 1 and trade up to 2 with New York for Barkley. If the Giants intend to take a QB they know Indy won’t take one so why not get more assets
That’s fine for the Giants, but what reason would the Browns have to do that? They could stay at 4 without giving up the assets that a rebuilding team like them could really use and take either Barkley (it’s quite possible he’d still be there) or Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Plus you’re also assuming the Colts stay at pick 3, which isn’t a given at all.
So Eagles 31, Patriots 32… as usual
Win on a 2 point conversion instead of overtime.
I think he’s talking about the draft order
Tell me about it. Four hours of your life watching flag football. I stopped watching the Super Bowl years ago. Crap rules, crap referees; same teams, same results. What’s the point?
Football for the 22nd century.
People been saying Philly would lose since Wentz went down, keep it coming
The Bears are the worst of the 5-11 bunch, can someone explain how they fall to 8? What’s the tiebreaker?
Strength of schedule !
Don’t think my Seahawks will trade down this year, in fact, I have a sneaky suspicion they’ll trade up for a change and use that pick to get the best RB available. I’d love Barkley but so would 25 other teams. Derrick Guice reminds me a little of Marshawn- I’d be perfectly ok w a tandem of Guice and C Carson back there. Seahawks ‘hold their cards pretty tight to their chest’ bring on the draft
To get Barkley they would have to trade this years 1st and Thomas to the Giants. Definitely not worth it IMO, since they traded so many of their picks earlier they would be forced to trade players.
Cleveland drafted a QB that had a long history of off the field issues and IMOP was an average prospect at best. WASTED a first round pick and probably more if they traded up to get him (don’t remember) but if this is the same draft team, why would you think they will draft the right guys? They have two top picks and at least one will be a reach and/or a BUST! It’s the Cleveland way…… Lions got Stafford after their 0-16 season so what QB do they draft at number 1?
