Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott won’t formally appeal his six-game suspension until Tuesday, but we’re already getting early word on what his case might look like. Elliott’s team will argue that ex-girlfriend Tiffany Thompson made a number of threats to “ruin his career,” including one threat that was racial in nature, sources tell Clarence Hill of the Star-Telegram. Elliott’s reps will also highlight inconsistencies in Thompson’s testimony throughout the process.
It’s not clear which of these “quoted threats” are substantiated by written evidence. In one instance, Elliott’s team alleges that Thompson said: “You are a black male athlete. I’m a white girl. They are not going to be believe you.” Elliott is “100 percent certain” that Thompson said this, per Hill’s source, but that might not hold much weight with the league office or in a court of law if it cannot be proven.
Elliott’s team will also make note of Thompson’s potentially bogus allegations of a domestic assault on July 22, 2016. The NFL has acknowledged that Thompson was not entirely truthful about the events on that day, though the running back will still have to answer for photographic evidence of other potential incidents on that same week.
If Elliott’s suspension stands, he will not see the field until late October.
He is better off just taking the punishment and moving on. Any other damaging testimony can only make it worse.
Good thing you know all the facts
hahaha So if I get arrested for for something and theres a decent chance I actually didnt do anything, I should just accept that 6 year jail sentence. I like your style man!
Before people start making idiotic uneducated comments read the two deaspin articles on this subject.

There is absolutely no truth to these allegations. Period. The saint patricks day incident? Yea, he should be suspended for it, but there is absolutely no credible proof that you can say Ezekiel Elliot battered Tiffany Thompson.
Deadspin** thanks autocorrect
To add to this: if Elliot takes the NFL/Thompson to court, I’d love to see Thompson testify and tell this same story under oath as to what actually happened. She’d either be made to look like a fool or lie under oath.
So you claim, but then the NFL’s statement said they made their decision after an extensive investigation that interviewed witnesses, Thompson and medical experts before reaching a finding that a suspension was warranted. Let him file his appeal and the NFL will meet him with their evidence. If he’s innocent, he’ll win, won’t he?
Do you trust the NFL’s “investigations” given how they have messed up almost every single one of these the last few years?
On top of that the police investigation was inconclusive. So your say the NFL found hard evidence that the police couldn’t. Sounds really fishy.
What’s funny about the St. Patty’s day incident is the girl who he exposed her breasts ended up screwing him that evening. She admitted to hooking up with him.
Still, he shouldn’t have done it but find it kinda funny.
He lifted a girl’s shirt up in public. He was in a pot house and I believe he was going 100 mph in a 35 mph zone. Put those together and he makes the league look bad. I can’t shed a tear for him. Some People in the organization are worried about his actions off the field.
70 mph zone not 35 mph zone.
And wasnt it a legal pot house? Get him for lifing a girls shirt up or whatever it was, fine. but speeding and being in a legal establishment? Im not sure those 2 warrant any kind of suspension
I don’t think it matters if it’s legal or not you have to admit it doesn’t look good. Marijuana is not legal in the NFL. What I’m saying is put the three incidents together and this is why I don’t feel bad for him or think the punishment is unjust.
Based on your comments then a quarter or more of the leagues players should be suspended.
Did he test positive after the weed shop?? If he did add that to the suspension, but if he didn’t then why is even being brought up??
So, would it be OK for him to be spotted in a meth house or crack house even if he doesn’t test positive for crack cocaine?
Are there a quarter or more of all NFL players that have done the three things Ezekiel Elliott has done? If there are then the answer would be yes.
It’s also revealing to know that people in the Cowboys organization are worried about Elliotts off field behavior.
I remember complaining about Goodell and due process 8 years ago but Cowboy fans were too busy laughing and saying “Rapelisberger”.
Enjoy.
Did Big Ben get suspended and if so how long?
6 games in 2010 even though no charges were filed by police.
