The Raiders have selected cornerback Gareon Conley with the No. 24 pick. Conley, once thought to have top ten potential, had everything thrown into flux this week when a woman accused him of sexual assault.
After the allegations came to light on Tuesday, teams worked tirelessly to get to the bottom of what happened between Conley and a young woman in his Cleveland hotel room. After investigating, the Raiders obviously felt that there was no serious wrongdoing on the part of the Ohio State cornerback.
There was talk this week that Conley would not be drafted at all or perhaps would slip to the third round. He is surely breathing a sigh of relief after being taken by the Raiders late in the first round.
Conley will likely supplant David Amerson as the team’s No. 2 cornerback. With Sean Smith and Conley, the Raiders have themselves a solid duo.
I knew he’d go late first round. Laughed when rumors had him going in the third.
Yeah, but I was hoping he would as a Pats fan, because he’d be a great grab with no first or second rounder, and the whole situation seemed iffy enough that I wasn’t super worried about jail time or anything like that.
Oh yeah but you sure thought him having a 3some and attempting to have a 4some in a hotel was such a big red flag. Get out of here
What?
Go back to our other discussion about Conley and you commented on one of my posts how big of a red flag it was that he was having a 3some in a hotel. You know what I’m talking about.
It’s not a red flag, but it *is* probably a flag. I have no problem with the dude trying to have a foursome, but putting yourself in that position just days before the draft shows questionable decision-making. He has to realize people will be out for his money now.
Can we get a traded pick log in addition to the draft board?
