Today’s minor moves:
- The Bears will sign free agent offensive tackle Tom Compton, per Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports (Twitter link). The 27-year-old has primarily worked as a reserve during his five NFL seasons, having started in just 11 of 44 appearances with Washington and Atlanta. Last season was Compton’s only one as a member of the Falcons. While he played in all of the NFC champions’ games, he didn’t start any of them.
- The Cowboys have signed defensive end Damontre Moore, according to Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News (Twitter link). Moore, a former third-round pick, has appeared in 49 career games but never started a contest. Although he’s posted 10 sacks during his NFL tenure, Moore might be best known for getting cut by the Giants after a headphone-related altercation. He’ll compete for a rotational role in Dallas.
- The Chiefs re-signed offensive lineman Mike Person, tweets Terez A. Paylor. Person, 28, was a 14-games starter for the Falcons in 2015 but didn’t see the field last year. Person, who has 31 career starts under his belt, is in the mix for a reserve role for Kansas City.
- After being non-tendered by the Seahawks earlier this week, linebacker Brock Coyle has now signed with the division-rival 49ers, per his agency (Twitter link). Coyle is a former undrafted agent, and though he’s never been a full-time starter, he’s appeared in 35 games during his three-year career.
- The Jets announced that they’ve re-signed long snapper Tanner Purdum. Purdum has been with Gang Green since 2010 and has appeared in every game during that time.
Who cares about minor signings when the Pats are out wheeling and dealing for the first time in my lifetime
That’s what I’m saying and I’m 28 and from nh and been a die hard pats fan my whole life. #go pats # dynasty # goat coach and QB. Best ever and the craziest free agency I’ve ever seen from the pats.id really like to see them lock up hightower tho.and after the Gilmore deal I’d like to see them pay butler like they should but Idk if that’s gonna happen
Exactly they need to lock up both Hightower and Butler and then trade Jimmy G and Amindola to the Browns for the 12th pick a 2nd round pick and 2 3rd round picks. They use the 12th pick to draft Dalvin Cook to be the new primary back and have Lewis back him up and use White for 3rd downs. This is what I would do if I were the Pats so hopefully they are thinking about doing something similar.
all I can say is I haven’t been able to pay attention in class the past two days with NFL FA going on it is the March Madness before March Madness. I am just happy that I have a 2 week break starting tomorrow so I can focus on this more and not have to try to do home work and see who is going where. But please Pats sign Hightower and Butler so I can just relax and actually enjoy what is happening more rather than me having to worry that all this is for nothing if we lose the core of our defense and the guy that made BB trade Jones and Collins away for so we had enough money to keep him so hopefully BB knows that if he wants to save his ass he needs to bring back Hightower and Hightower needs to realize that coming back to the Pats is probably his best option too, would you rather be SB favorites and play with the best team in the league or play with the Titans for a little bit more money. I know where I would go, I grew up in New England and played football my whole life, I love the snow(until I have to shovel) so I should choose the Pats and hopefully Hightower does too.
Wow. The Pats clearly just won the off-season! And everyone knows that alwAys translates to winning it all in the regular season… AmIright?
Why don’t the Browns help them out by taking Jimmy G and Amindola for the 12th pick a second round pick and 2 3rd round picks and sign Hightower and Butler to long term deals and draft the best RB available with he 12th pick
