We’ve heard quite a bit of Tony Romo trade speculation in recent months, but the veteran quarterback sees things playing out differently. Romo is expecting to be released and he believes he can be a starting quarterback in the NFL for two or three more seasons, a source tells Ed Werder of ESPN.com (on Twitter).
Romo, who turns 37 in April, has not played a full season of football since 2014. His current contract calls for him to earn a $14MM base salary in 2017 and it would be challenging for the Cowboys to convince another team to give up draft picks in addition to paying out that deal. Beyond that, Romo presumably wants to choose his own landing spot rather than leave it to chance. Given his close relationship with owner Jerry Jones, it seems possible that he could secure his release.
One recent report claimed the Bills have “significant” interest in Romo, but the veteran might want to join a team that is closer to contention. The Broncos have been frequently mentioned as a possibility while the nearby Texans are not interested.
Or he is just getting this word out to pressure them into releasing him. Maybe if he was a franchise QB and won something for them, they would do what he wants. But then again Jerry Jones will tell you Romo should be in the HoF lol lol lol.
Im no expert but looking at his stats , i think he will get in the NFL Hof. And i cant stand the dude …
lol come on
When it comes time for the decision to be made I’m pretty sure that the voters will care more about his numbers then they will your opinion
I agree. They also won’t care about your opinion. So why try to tell me I’m wrong, genius?
You need to go look at all the qbs in the hall. Look at there numbers. Then go look at Romos numbers. Sorry. Hes going in. And i hate Romo. Numbers dont lie.
I did. He’s not going in. Sorry. Careers don’t lie. Look at his career.
Because you aren’t very smart, xfl.
For an undrafted player, 34k yards, 65% passing, 248 TDs, 117 Ints, and an AAV of 116- those are boarder line HOF numbers and if he can get to 40k, 300 TDs, and an AAV of 130 he is a HOF caliber player.
Kurt Warner just got in with 32k yards, 208 TDs, 65% passing and an AAV of 113….soooooo
Who cares if he is undrafted or went 1st overall. Once you’re in the NFL, everyone is held to the same standard.
Warner is instantly the worst QB to be in the HoF. Oh well. Then he said Boldin, Holt and Bruce should be in the Hall of Fame too, LOL!
I don’t know what’s with all the hate for Romo. He’s been a really good QB in his career, but yet people dismiss him as if he’s horrible.
Philip Rivers doesn’t catch anywhere near the type of flack as Romo and they are very similar QBs
Rivers is way better than Romo.
Your crazy
Crazy smart
Like P.Rivers been to SB. Basura
I told this to an uber driver who was a Chargers fan in Vegas last season and he said that Romo was garbage and I told him that Romo owned like every Cowboys passing record ever and he didn’t believe me.
Also Matt Ryan is a bigger career choker than Romo ever was
Compared to Romo, Matt Ryan is Joe Montana.
Considering that his nickname, Matty Ice, was given because of his peformance when it mattered, I’d disagree with you. Not that I would call the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl a choke, but if you are talking about that, at least he made it to one. Romo couldn’t even handle the snap for a field goal to send his team to the Super Bowl.
You mean handle the snap of a kick that would send the Cowboys out of a wild card game? Good try though. You should look up “Matty Ices” 4th quarter passing stats and come back and see me. Not to mention he literally threw a pick 2 to lose a game this season and has characteristically been a choker in the 2nd half of games throughout his entire career. People just don’t realize because the Falcons have been completely irrelevant.
Just the hate in general that some athlete’s get is hard to understand.

K. Warner has something Romo doesn’t have a Super Bowl ring, and more playoff wins. Romo 2 wins 4 losses no NFC Championship appearance.
