The 49ers spoke with the Titans about moving up to the No. 1 pick in the draft, according to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report (video link). Still, the 49ers are trying to assess exactly what a move from No. 7 to No. 1 would cost them and they’re also unsure of whether they really need to move up in the draft. San Francisco is believed to be targeting a quarterback and it’s possible that either Jared Goff or Carson Wentz will be there at No. 7.
Here’s more from the West divisions:
- More and more NFL owners are warming up to the idea of the Raiders playing in Las Vegas, according to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report (video link). Meanwhile, owner Mark Davis is intrigued by the idea of moving to Vegas, but he’s unsure if fans will continue to fly in for games year after year. When asked about the possibility of the Raiders moving to Las Vegas in March, commissioner Roger Goodell didn’t close the door on the possibility of having an NFL franchise there.
- Indiana defensive tackle Darius Latham has an official visit with the Cardinals, Wilson tweets.
- Marshall safety D.J. Hunter has a private workout scheduled with the 49ers, a league source tells Wilson (on Twitter).
- Clemson safety T.J. Green announced (on Twitter) that he is in Arizona to meet with the Cardinals today.

Please don’t trade up. Goff should be there, and if not, build the defense and draft Prescott or Adams later. Not worth trading our next years pick when it will likely be top 10 again.
Probably top 3 pick
I’d assume (4) 1st round draft picks or like (3) 1st round picks and (2) 2nd round picks. Like this wouldn’t matter if you’re the Patriots who trade out of the 1st round almost every year. But being that half the team retired or aged-out of the equation in San Fran, they may want to better utilize their plethora of picks this year OR figure out how to get the #1 overall pick next year when Watson goes pro who is probably better than any QB in this draft.
Why is Baalke looking at a safety again, when the 49ers need cornerbacks? Every year he’s drafting a new safety. How about some players to replace Justin Smith, Patrick Willis, Aldon Smith, and Borland? Instead he drafts injured and project players every year, a very low percentage of which even ever play. Remember RB Marcus Lattimore? Yeah, neither do I, since he never played a down. He was the 49ers RB of the future. The 49ers can’t afford to have Baalke doing that kind of gambling with picks in 2016. They have way too many holes to fill and not enough good players throughout the draft to meet their needs, since most of their picks are late rounders.
This is probably why: 40 Yrd Dash: 4.38
He was a Safety, then Linebacker, will probably play somewhere in the secondary, not necessarily Safety with that speed. He’s not even projected to get drafted, so I wouldn’t really worry too much he’ll likely be undrafted signee.
He’s taken big risks on injuried players and character guys. Brandon Thomas needs to show up this year, tank does to. Or corners are young, we need a pass rush first then build up the corners. The safety we might be drafting is for a future backup later in the rounds or a special teams players. I don’t expect Reid or bethea to be back with tartt and Ward replacing them.
