On this date in 1973, Los Angeles Rams defensive end Fred Dryer became the first player to record two safeties in one game in the Rams’ 24-7 victory over the Packers. After football, Dryer went on to enjoy a successful career as a film and television actor. He was best known as the lead role in Hunter, an NBC police drama that ran for seven seasons in the late 80s-early 90s.
