The Texans have re-signed free agent cornerback Elbert Mack, tweets John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.
Mack, who joined the Texans for the 2013 season after spending the first five years of his NFL career with the Buccaneers and Saints, didn’t see any action on defense for Houston, but appeared in eight games as a special-teamer. Contributing to kick and punt coverage, the 27-year-old logged eight tackles.
Although Mack had a handful of defensive starts in Tampa Bay and New Orleans, he likely won’t see much action in the secondary for the Texans in 2014, barring injuries to regulars.
Prior to agreeing to terms with the Texans, Mack reportedly worked out for the Bengals last month.
