Bengals TE Erick All Expected To Miss 2025 Season

Erick All missed half of the 2024 campaign after suffering the second torn ACL of his career. While there was natural hope that he’d be back on the field midway through the 2025 season, it now sounds like the Bengals tight end won’t play again until 2026.

According to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic, All is expected to miss the entire 2025 season following complications from a previous knee surgery he underwent in college.

All suffered his first torn ACL back in 2023 while he was at the University of Iowa. When the tight end suffered his most recent tear, it was determined that his knee issues were “so severe” that he’d require two surgeries instead of the standard single procedure. According to Dehner, All has already gone under the knife once, and his upcoming surgery will effectively start the clock on the “traditional ACL recovery timeline.”

Injuries were a big reason why All fell to the Bengals in the fourth round of the 2024 draft. Other than the aforementioned ACL tear, the tight end also suffered a back injury that ultimately required “life-changing” spine surgery (per Dehner). The Bengals are naturally treading lightly with the young player, and the current recovery strategy is intended to benefit “the long term of his career.”

All got into nine games (six starts) as a rookie, hauling in 20 catches for 158 yards. As Dehner writes, the player’s real production came as a blocker, with the Bengals slightly revising their run-blocking approach to accommodate All’s game-changing ability.

While the Bengals probably intended to pencil All in as their TE1 in 2025, the team will now have to look for another solution. With Mike Gesicki hitting free agency, the Bengals are currently eyeing a depth chart that consists of Drew Sample, Tanner McLachlan, and Cam Grandy.

We don’t have a reason for Moreland’s suspension yet, but we know that it will last three weeks. He hasn’t played in the NFL since 2021, but if a team were to sign him, he wouldn’t be available for three games.

Bengals TE Erick All Suffers Torn ACL

The Bengals are picking themselves up off the floor after a 1-4 start to open the year, earning their fourth win of the season to take them to 4-5 today. Today’s win over the Raiders, though, came with an unfortunate development as there are fears that tight end Erick All suffered a torn ACL that will end his 2024 rookie campaign, per Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. Head coach Zac Taylor has since confirmed the news.

All was a fourth-round pick for the Bengals out of Iowa, who has become a virtual tight end factory for the NFL after producing players like George Kittle, T.J. Hockenson, Noah Fant, and Sam LaPorta. All was the latest of this group, spending just one year in the Hawkeyes’ system after transferring from Michigan, where he spent his first four years of college as a Wolverine. His time in Iowa City yielded 21 catches for 299 yards and three touchdowns.

In his rookie season, All has shown flashes of promise as the TE2 in Cincinnati. Though veteran Mike Gesicki leads the position room in targets (30), catches (25), and yards (253), All (18 catches on 20 targets for 134 yards) is not far behind. No tight ends had caught touchdowns for the Bengals this year until Week 9, with Gesicki recording two. The veteran addition is on a one-year deal in Cincinnati, which created an easy path for All to take over the TE1 job in 2025 if he showed enough promise as a rookie.

Instead, the remainder of All’s rookie season is likely to be spent in recovery. He should have enough time to be ready for the 2025 regular season, though there’s little room for setbacks. In the meantime, Gesicki will find himself alone atop the tight end depth chart while the Bengals look for a replacement well-equipped to handle All’s run blocking duties.

Thuney has been working his way back from a pectoral injury. After suffering the strain in a Divisional Round win over the Bills, the injury held Thuney out of the team’s final two wins over the Ravens and 49ers. Having passed his physical, Thuney will return to practice in order to take the next steps on his way back to the field.

The Giants weren’t the only team to submit a waiver claim for Rourke as he continues to try and turn his success in the Canadian Football League into an NFL opportunity. Now, after being buried on the depth chart behind Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, and Tommy DeVito, Rourke is able to look elsewhere for that chance at playing time in the NFL.
