We’re looking to add a part-time contributor to the Pro Football Rumors writing team. The position pays on an hourly basis. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Exceptional knowledge of all 32 NFL teams, with no discernible bias.
- Knowledge of the salary cap and transaction-related concepts.
- At least some college education.
- Writing experience is necessary; online writing experience is preferred.
- Attention to detail — absolutely no spelling errors, especially for player and journalist names.
- Ability to follow the site’s style and tone.
- Ability to analyze articles and craft intelligent, well-written posts summing up the news. We need someone who can balance quick writing with thoughtful analysis. You must be able to add value to breaking news with your own insight, numbers or links to other relevant articles.
- Ability to use Twitter/X.
- Strong weekend availability is important. You must frequently be available to work on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
- Frequent weeknight availability (5-11pm CT) is preferred.
- Flexibility to work on short notice, along with occasional weekday availability, is a bonus.

I’m constantly on this site and additionally on mlbtr, in my tears on here I have not come across someone as informed as you. I’ve seen your comments where you’re discussing the safety group on the on the jags or the schematics of the the Washington run game. How do you have all this insight, I’m almost ready to believe you’ve previously worked I’m football.
I mean this honestly, I’m genuinely curious.
I don’t, really. I just like strategy. I don’t like a lot of T.V. analysis because it’s kind of shallow to me, or too based in pure opinion that’s just designed to farm reactions. I like the chess game, I suppose. The human element that makes every player slightly different necessitates a more in depth look. You know how Madden has all of those sliders that the developers don’t even use for most players? I guess I like to know how each player would stack up in real life. Knowing their strengths and weaknesses, all while they or the team tries to scheme around them and tries to disguise it, and trying to figure that out…it’s a game, and a challenge in and of itself. Hard to explain, I guess.
I’m sure there are plenty of you who know, though. We have a really good community here, despite any differences we may have, and y’all have corrected me more often than I’ve done it to y’all, honestly. It’s humbling to hear anybody say that about me, because I feel like y’all are the most intelligent group of fans that you’d find on an online “forum” like this place.
Thanks y’all, I’m humbled. I can think of a lot of you who could do pretty well at this, too. If my job were different…well, maybe. But if any of y’all put in for it, please let us know. Especially you, arty. I’d pay cash money to see you cover the Patriots. I don’t which I’d rather see-you summarizing Belichick or unclemike covering the Bears.

Thanks for the comments, guys. But I’m too snarky & biased to be anything more than a commentator. Besides on the weekends, I’m too busy re-checking my fantasy line up (PFR League!), watching games, grilling, & a beer in hand to write (AKA work).

Some of these ‘reports’ are laughable with misspelling, missing words and punctuation.
